Went to repot my new snake plant…

So my boyfriend went grocery shopping yesterday, saw some cute snake plants and got me one. I went to repot it into my own potting soil mix because I didn’t like the one it was already in, just to find roots looking like this (can we even call this roots?!) 🥲

I’m not sure where to proceed, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
